Fuel efficiency, drivability and style are three of the classic aspects of car designs. Whether in sales or in consumer feedback, the overall value of a car greatly depends on these factors. However, due to the recent issues on erratic fuel prices, fuel efficiency supersedes the other factors. Of course, a car still has to have great handling features and style. But nowadays, the car that delivers more power per liter of fuel wins the consumers. More than aesthetics and drivability, the ability of a car to save on fuel but perform excellently on the road predicts its success on the market.
So what happens when a car segment fails to make an impact to its target market base?
According to the information that I got from Ward’s Automotive Group, a publisher of industry trade news and data, a low day’s supply and low retail turn rate is relative to the time that a car stays on the lot of its dealers. For instance, when the car segment have limited number of units in its display, it is either the model segment sold well or the trim that customer asks for is not yet available so they are not yet entirely sold. The average retail turn for every vehicle is 61 days.
So what happened to the sales of the new LX 570? For a premium SUV, consumers were quite inquisitive about its fuel efficiency features. While people immediately snapped up on small cars with great fuel economy, auto analysts still believed that this vehicle segment can manage to sway the interests of its target market. Although today’s SUV market is somewhat struggling, it is still not dead. In fact, redesigned SUV lineups like Scion xD and LX 570 have experienced a surge in sales after their manufacturers have addressed the need to improve fuel economy without compromising their handling and drivability features.
For LX 570, improvements were made on its engine. Now, the engine LX 570 engine is configured to deliver more power for every liter of gas. Engineers have wrapped up the changes by completing a 5.7-liter V8 engine that produces up to 383 horsepower for the new LX 570 engine. For increased driving safety, new technology are incorporated in its monitors, these monitors are strategically located in the grille and under the side-view mirror. For added comfort, the new interior is adorned with leather seats with a power extendable front seat cushions.
The fact is that loyal Lexus fans have been enlisting on the new LX 570, as they wanted to get hold of the revamped Lexus SUV as soon as it hits the market. With its new styling and modern driving as well as comfort amenities, the new LX 570 will surely win the hearts of loyal Lexus as well as premium SUV shoppers.
